CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Baptist Bible College 66-45 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

JoHanna Metzger led the Knights with a double-double, 20 points and 11 rebounds. Lauren Legler netted 19 points and Alex Fernandez added 13. 

Baptist Bible opened with an 11-3 run over the first six minutes. Neumann answered with a 14-0 run to take a 17-11 advantage. The Defenders worked their way back into the game and tied the game at 19 with 4:15 left in the first half. The teams would go into the break knotted at 21.

The second half started much like the first and Baptist Bible built a six point lead, 29-23, five minutes into the period. The Knights scored six quick points, three by Fernandez and three by Metzger, to tie the game again.

Neumann then began to put the pressure on and would not trail again. Slowly, the Knights started to build their lead. While leading by seven, 47-40, Neumann scored the next 14 points for a commanding 61-40 lead with 2:59 remaining. The Knights would then cruise over the final three minutes for the win.

Neumann (7-8, 4-2 CSAC) will remain on the road and head back north on Monday when it competes against Marywood. The CSAC action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
