ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell to Cabrini College, 61-52, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Four players netted 10 points to lead the Knights: Jessica Schlesman, JoHanna Metzger, Lauren Legler, and Holly McKaig. Metzger also pulled down 10 boards for a double-double and had three blocks.

Cabrini held the pace of the game for the first six minutes and built a 10 point lead, 16-6. Neumann began to chip its way back into the game and got to within two, 24-22, with 4:40 left in the first half. The Knights tied the game at 28 on a three-pointer by Legler with 18 ticks left on the clock. The Cavaliers hit a layup right before halftime to take a two-point advantage, 30-28, into the break.

A jumper by Metzger a minute-and-a-half into the second half gave Neumann its first lead of the game, 33-32. Cabrini took back the lead on the next basket. Metzger again put the Knights in the lead midway through the half, 43-42. Metzger and Legler would help Neumann to its largest lead of the game, 47-43, with 7:22 left in regulation.

However, the Cavaliers would score the next seven points to take back the lead, 50-47, with 4:49 remaining. The Knights would stay within striking range until the final two minutes as Cabrini would score the final nine points of the game for the 61-52 final.

Neumann (7-10, 4-4 CSAC) hosts Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday as it continues its five game home stretch. Tipoff is at 6:00 PM.
