GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - The Neumann University men's soccer team blanked Gwynedd Mercy University 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Jake McDevitt had a goal and an assist.
Shane Smith made three saves as he did not allow a goal in his third consecutive game.
McDevitt opened the scoring in the third minute.
Abu Donzo served the ball through the box and McDevitt was able to find the back of the net. In the 19
th minute,
Josh Hendrickson netted his first collegiate goal. The insurance goal came off of a corner kick and McDevitt picked up the assist.
The Knights outshot the Griffins 18-8 overall and 10-3 on net.
"Our backs have been against the wall now for three games in the conference and I give the team credit as they have been able to answer in each game", said Head Coach
Tim Hollenback. "We are happy with today's results but we know we still have work to do as the regular season wraps up with Keystone and Rosemont next week."
Neumann (4-8-2, 3-3-1 CSAC) will host Keystone in its annual senior night and last regular season home game on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
