ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 non-conference win against Penn State-Brandywine on Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights opened the afternoon by taking all three doubles matches, the first time this had happened this season. Benjamin Bright and Dustin Broom battled at first doubles and came away with a 9-8 (7-2) win. Todd Del Sordo and Trevor Hoopes took second doubles 8-6. At third doubles, Travis Hall and Nick Manza won by an 8-1 score.
In singles action, Broom took his match in the first flight, 6-4, 6-0. Hoopes came away with a 6-3, 6-3 win at third singles. Del Sordo clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at fourth singles. Manza wrapped up the wins for the Knights at fifth singles, 8-1.
Neumann (4-1) starts a busy conference week on Monday when it hosts Rosemont. Action gets underway at 4:00 PM.
