ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team, the No. 2 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason, will face No. 3 seeded Marywood University in a semifinal match-up on Friday.
The Tournament will be held at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The match between the Knights and the Pacers will be the second match of the day. The first match will be between No. 1 seeded Gwynedd Mercy and No. 4 seeded Cabrini.
The Knights went 6-1 in conference action in the regular season to clinch the No. 2 seed. Neumann defeated Marywood 9-0 in its meeting on April 15.
Dustin Broom and Benjamin Bright took first doubles and Todd Del Sordo and Trevor Hoopes won second doubles both by the score of 8-4. Travis Hall and Nick Manza won third doubles by an 8-1 score.
Hall had to battle back to take first singles 1-6, 6-2, 10-5. Broom and Bright took second and third singles respectively 8-4. Hoopes won his match 6-1, 6-2 in fourth singles. Del Sordo took fifth singles 6-0, 6-0. Manza finished up the sweep with 6-0, 6-1 in sixth singles.
No. 1 Gwynedd Mercy University and No. 4 Cabrini College will face off in the first semifinal match on Friday at 9:30 AM. The winners will meet for the CSAC title on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
