ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team was doubled-up by Delaware Valley University 4-2 in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
The first 10 minutes of the game featured four goals, two by each team. The Aggies scored first in the 8
th minute.
Alexa DeRose tied the game at one a minute later when she put a free kick in the upper left corner.
Delaware Valley answered back 11 seconds later for a 2-1 game.
Nicole McAfee then tied the game at two as she shot the ball from 25 yards out off of the keeper's hands a minute later.
After the busy first few minutes, the teams quieted down. The Aggies took a 3-2 lead in the 38
th minute and took that advantage into halftime.
Delaware Valley added an insurance goal in the 58
th minute for the 4-2 final.
DeRose led the Knights with five of their 16 shots. McAfee and
Lexi Casper each added four.
Kristen Montgomery made seven saves in net.
Kahlyn Ford played 22 minutes in goal in relief and made one save.
Neumann (1-7) will head up to Centenary on Saturday for conference action beginning at 12:00 PM.
