ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team is set to begin its quest for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship in a first round game on Monday.
After missing the postseason last season, Neumann finished conference action with a record of 6-4-1 and is slated as the No. 6 seed. The Knights will travel to the No. 3 seeded Centenary University on Monday beginning at 2:00 PM. The other first round match-up will feature No. 4 Immaculata hosting No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy.
In the regular season meeting this season, the Cyclones came away with a 3-0 win against the Knights in Aston back on October 15.
During the regular season,
Jamie King led the Knights with seven goals, three of which were game-winners.
Grace Stauffer added five goals and
Ashley Francis tallied four.
Lexi Casper contributed three goals and a team high four assists.
Anna Attardi started all 17 contests in net for Neumann. In almost 1500 minutes, the freshman had a goals-against-average of 1.80. She made 80 saves and posted four shutouts.
Neumann finished the regular season 9-7-1 overall. The winners of the first round games will travel to No. 1 Marywood and No. 2 Cabrini on Tuesday for semifinal action.
