The Neumann University Club Basketball team made their National Club Basketball Association (NCBBA) debut in a three-game series at Rowan University on November 19. After dropping the first game, the team rebounded to defeat the hosting Profs, 83-82, for their first win of the 2016-17 season. The two teams went back and forth in the rubber match, but unfortunately the Knights fell just short, 94-91, to lose the series, two-games-to-one, to Rowan.
For his efforts, senior
Brihem Johnson was named the NCBBA Mid-Atlantic South Player of the Week after recording 92 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists over the three games. The Philadelphia native scored a team-high 34 points in the club's victory and then exploded for 43 more in their narrow defeat in the third game of the series.
Johnson and the club will return to action in their first-home series versus St. Joseph's University on December 3-4. The teams will begin the three-game set with a single contest at 5:00pm on Saturday, December 3, before concluding with a doubleheader slated to start at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 4.
