ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's basketball team will enter the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason as the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 seed Centenary College on Monday evening at 7:00 PM.
The Knights finished the regular season 15-10 overall and 13-3 in the conference. Earlier in the season, Neumann defeated Centenary on its home court in the lone meeting of the regular season.
Neumann won a close 66-64 against the Cyclones in January.
Emily Lyons netted six three-pointers and led the team with 19 points in the game.
JoHanna Metzger had a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
Lauren Legler added 12 points.
For the season, the Knights are averaging double-digits. Metzger is averaging 17.1 points and 12.8 rebounds per game and has blocked 42 shots. Legler is adding 11 points per game while netting 31 baskets from beyond the arc.
Nafisa Saunders is netting 10.6 points per game.
Sarah Roberts has handed out a team high 68 assists.
Neumann has won its last six games and 11 of its last 12. The lone loss came to Marywood, who is the No. 1 seed in the postseason.
The other first round game will be between feature sixth seeded Rosemont at third seeded Cabrini. The winners of the two first round games will advance to the semifinals and will tip-off against either No. 1 Marywood or No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday. The winner of the semifinal games will meet in the Championship game on Saturday.
