ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team opened the 2016 season with a 9-0 setback at Eastern University on Thursday afternoon.
The Eagles opened the match by taking all three points in doubles action. New doubles partners
Trevor Hoopes and
Jake Davidson battled in the first flight, but fell 8-5.
Zac Lazzaro and
Andrew Wilbraham fell 8-1 in their first double match together in the second slot.
In singles action, Lazzaro dropped his match at second singles 6-2, 6-1. Hoopes won two sets at first singles, but fell 6-2, 6-0.
Neumann (0-1) opens conference action on April 1 when it travels to Rosemont. Action is slated to get underway at 3:30 PM.
