ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2016 season with a 17-4 loss to Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Ryan Lee scored two goals for the Knights.
Ricky Viscuse had a goal and an assist.
Antonio Gibson made 17 saves in net and picked up nine ground balls.
The Knights scored a goal in each quarter. The Griffins scored first 3:45 into the game. Viscuse tied the game at one three minutes later. As time was winding down in the first, GMU took a 2-1 lead with 16 seconds left on the clock.
The Griffins scored the first two goals of the second quarter to increase their lead to 4-1. Lee scored his first goal of the game with 3:38 before halftime. GMU made the score 5-2 with 1:03 left in the first half and too a 5-2 lead into the break.
Gwynedd Mercy netted six goals to open the second half and increase its lead to 11-2.
Adam Fagan scored his goal with 37 seconds left in the third quarter off an assist from Viscuse.
The Griffins scored six times in the fourth quarter. Lee scored midway through the final 15 minutes off a pass from
Rob Neri.
Neumann wraps up its season 1-12 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
