4/7/2016 4:05:00 PM

updated as of 12:30 pm on 4/10

The Neumann University Roller Hockey Club's D1 unit picked up where they left off last year's national tournament, sweeping through pool play with a perfect 3-0 mark.  The team defeated Bethel and UNLV by the same margin, 3-2, in the event's first day of action on April 6 and then downed University of Missouri-St. Louis 8-3 on April 7.

The team cruised past the University of Rhode Island, 15-0, in the bracket opener and then defeated Farmingdale State by a score of 6-3 to advance to the semifinals.  Neumann then knocked-off Michigan State University, 10-1, in the semifinals.  The club will now square-off versus UNLV for the 2016 NCRHA Championship; the puck is slated to drop at 8:30pm tonight!  The contest will mark Neumann's third consecutive trip to the D1 Championship finale.

The D3 squad, eager to avenge last year's defeat in the championship finale, fell to Lindenwood in a matchup of last year's championship finale, 5-4, in their pool play opener, fell 8-1 to MSU, and defeated Arizona State (7-2) to conclude pool play.  Neumann opened the elimination bracket with a 6-2 victory over Farmingdale, before being eliminated in the semifinals at the hands of MSU.
