Roller Hockey Claims Second Consecutive National Championship

4/9/2016 8:43:00 PM

The Neumann University Roller Hockey Club defeated the University of Nevada-Las Vegas by a score of 4-1 in the 2016 National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA) National Championship.  The title is the second consecutive national championship for Neumann after also winning in 2015.

The D1 unit picked up where they left off last year's national tournament, sweeping through pool play with a perfect 3-0 mark.  The team defeated Bethel and UNLV by the same margin, 3-2, in the event's first day of action on April 6 and then downed University of Missouri-St. Louis 8-3 on April 7.

The team cruised past the University of Rhode Island, 15-0, in the bracket opener and then defeated Farmingdale State by a score of 6-3 to advance to the semifinals.  Neumann then knocked-off Michigan State University, 10-1, in the semifinals, marking Neumann's third consecutive trip to the D1 Championship finale.

Congratulations to Coach Lee Strofe, Assistants Jim Dumont and Tom Paglieli, and the entire 2015-16 Roller Hockey Club on a terrific season!
