Sack Announces Staffing Changes for the 2016-17 Academic Year

ASTON, Pa. – Director of Athletics and Recreation Chuck Sack has announced the following title and position changes for the 2016-17 academic year.
  • Sarah Kurpel, Assistant Athletic Director of Student Services and Compliance
  • David Deal, Assistant Athletic Director / Director of Campus Recreation
  • Matt Tendler, Assistant Athletic Director / Recruitment Coordinator
  • Jill Weigel, Athletic Communications Director
  • Tim Hollenback, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
  • Kyle Gardner, Assistant Director of Campus Recreation
 
Kurpel, who is entering her eleventh year at Neumann, will become the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Services and Compliance. Formerly the Compliance and Student Services Coordinator, Kurpel will continue to serve in a similar capacity while also staying on as the Senior Woman Administrator and the head women's field hockey coach.
 
Deal, formerly the Intramural and Club Sports Coordinator, will see his title change to Assistant Athletic Director / Director of Campus Recreation. Entering his fourth year at Neumann, Deal will continue to head both club sports and intramurals, while also assisting in the management of the athletic department's work study program.
 
Tendler will begin his second year at Neumann as the Assistant Athletic Director / Recruitment Coordinator. In addition to leading the men's ice hockey team, Tendler will also be responsible for serving as a liaison between the athletic and admissions departments.
 
Weigel will see her title change from Sports Information Director, to Athletic Communications Director. Entering her ninth year, Weigel will continue to be in charge of covering Neumann's 22 varsity sports teams.
 
Hollenback will join Weigel and Gina Kearns, Athletic New Media Coordinator, in the Athletic Communications department as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. The second year member of the department will assist in the coverage of Neumann's 22 varsity sports, while also maintaining his position as the head men's soccer coach.
 
Gardner will become full time and join Deal in Campus Recreation as the Assistant Director. Heading into his second year at Neumann, the men's lacrosse coach will continue in that role while also assisting in the supervision of both club and intramural sports.
