ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team dropped its second game of the weekend, falling 5-1 to Smith College.
The Knights came out aggressively to start the game, as freshman
Summer Sides streaked down the right flank and ripped a ball into the upper 90 for a 1-0 lead in just the third minute. Unfortunately for Neumann, that would be the only highlight for the remainder of the game as Smith responded with five unanswered goals.
The Pioneers notched two goals in the first half, then tacked on three more in the second half to complete the 5-1 victory. For the game, Smith outshot the Knights 14-8. Neumann goalie
Anna Attardi stopped six shots in net for the Knights.
Lexi Casper led the team with five shots.
Neumann (2-2) is back in action on Wednesday when it heads on the road for the first time this season. Action at Lancaster Bible College is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
