The Neumann University Men's Rugby Club visited backyard rival Widener University in a matchup of Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference (MARCH) rivals. The Knights came away with a tough 46-40 win at Quick Stadium in Chester, PA.
Santino D'Angelo continued his scoring rampage notchcing four trys on the afternoon. Gaetano Quintiliani added a pair of first-half trys to give Neumann a 31-14 cushion. Steady phase play on the attack and committed defense allowed the Knights to disrupt Widener throughout the contest. Pierre Thibert added six points on conversions, while John McNichol and AJ Dellemonache also connected on a scores for Neumann.
With the victory, Neumann improved to 3-3 on the season, while the Widener Pride fell to 0-4. The club will conclude the regular season versus Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, October 28. Kick-off on the grass pitch is set for 12:00pm and the seniors will be honored in a pre-match ceremony.
