ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team celebrated senior day with an 80-35 win over Cedar Crest College in Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
 
Prior to the game, the Knights honored senior AAliya Hayes. She responded by leading the team with 26 points while adding eight rebounds and four steals.
 
Lauren Legler tallied 15 points and Nafisa Saunders added 11. Mariah Maciejewski grabbed 11 rebounds. Ten Knights that hit the floor had added a basket and/or a rebound in the game.
 
Legler started off the scoring 18 seconds in with a jumper that began a 12-0 start for the Knights. The Falcons scored their first basket of the quarter with 5:31 on the clock that broke up the run by the Knights. Saunders started another 12-0 for the Knights to end the first quarter and take a 26-4 lead after the first 10 minutes.
 
Hayes scored the first four points of the second quarter with a layup and two free-throws. The Knight steadily built their lead and took a 48-14 lead into halftime.
 
The third quarter was just like the first two. With two seconds on the clock Nicole Sipp added a layup to get the Knights back up to 44 point lead going in to the last quarter 70-26. Neumann continued to cruise through the fourth quarter to take the 80-35 CSAC win.
 
Neumann (16-7, 11-3 CSAC) will be on the road for the final two games of the regular season, beginning at Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday evening. Tip off slated at 7:00 PM.
