ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team fell in its first road match of the season, dropping a 7-2 result at Moravian College on Wednesday afternoon.
The match opened up with Moravian sweeping all three doubles matches.
Daniel Rival and
Rod Bradbury played well in first doubles, but fell by a score of 8-3.
The Knights fortunes in singles were a bit better though, as Rival and
Billy Swontek picked up the two wins for Neumann on the day. Rival was victorious in first singles by a score of 6-4, 6-2, while Swontek took home a win at fifth singles, prevailing 6-0, 6-0. The wins were the first of each player's career at Neumann. Unfortunately, the Knights fell in the remaining singles matches to lose by a score of 7-2 overall.
Neumann (0-2) returns right back to the court on Saturday afternoon with its first conference match of the season at home versus Rosemont College. The match is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
