Men's Tennis Clipped by Cavaliers

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team opened the conference portion of its schedule with a 6-3 loss to rival Cabrini University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Wednesday afternoon.

The match opened with Cabrini taking two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Neumann's lone win came in third doubles as the pair of Billy Swontek and Andrew Wilbraham were victorious by a score of 8-4.

As the match switched to individual play, Neumann was boosted by a big win at first singles from Daniel Rival. The freshman won his second consecutive match with a fantastic all-around performance to win 6-2, 6-3. Rival was backed up by a win at fifth singles from Jordan Collins, who also won in straight sets by a count of 6-4, 6-3. Unfortunately for the Knights, Cabrini would win the remainder of the matches and take home a 6-3 win.

Neumann (0-3, 0-1 CSAC) is right back in action on Friday, March 31st when the team heads to Gwynedd Mercy University for its second CSAC matchup of the season. The match is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
