ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team used scoring from the entire team to defeat Notre Dame of Maryland University 87-45 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon. Senior Lauren Legler scored her 1,000^th career point in the win.
 
Minika Glenn led four Knights in double-figures with 14 points while adding 10 rebounds. Nafisa Saunders tallied 11 points. Nicole Sipp and Kristen Denoncour each added 10 points. All 13 players that hit the court netted at least two points in the win.
 
After a slow start for both teams, the Knights built a 9-2 lead midway through the first quarter. The Gators then scored the next six points to get back to within one, 9-8, with 2:55 on the clock. Neumann ended the quarter on a 9-3 run for a 16-11 game after the first 10 minutes.
 
The Gators scored the first basket of the second quarter, but the Knights answered with seven straight points to take their first double-digit lead, 23-13. Neumann continued to build its lead and took a 43-20 lead into halftime, capped with two free throws by Saunders to end the half.
 
The Knights continued to slowly build their lead throughout the second half as everyone contributed to the 87-45 final.
 
Neumann (14-5, 9-1 CSAC) will head north to Marywood on Wednesday for more conference action. Action gets underway at 6:00 PM as part of a doubleheader with the men.
