Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Clipped by Cougars

DALLAS, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team could not find its way back into the win column on the road at Misericordia University on Tuesday afternoon, falling by a score of 20-7 in non-conference action.

Colin Blake and Eric Conlon each scored twice to pace the Neumann attack, while Chris Augustine also chipped in with a goal and an assist. Brendan Risley, Antonio Gibson and Johnnie Williams all split time in goal, combining for 18 saves in the loss.

Things unraveled quickly for the Knights in the road contest as the visitors conceded the first seven goals of the game in the opening quarter to go down 7-0 midway through the frame. Blake got a goal back at the 4:59 mark of the period, but three more Misericordia goals made it 10-1 heading to the second stanza.

Neumann played much better defensively in the second quarter, but the Cougars still found a way to build their lead. Blake notched his second tally of the half midway through the period, but the hosts added three more goals to take a 13-2 lead to halftime.

Misericordia kept its foot on the pedal in the second half, outscoring the Knights by a count of 6-0 in the third frame to take a 19-2 lead into the final quarter of play. The Knights didn't quit and rallied for five fourth-quarter goals, but the damage had already been done, as the Cougars took home the 20-7 victory.

Neumann (1-7) is back on the field on Thursday, March 29th when the team opens Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play versus Cabrini University. Game-time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
