The Mighty Macs knotted the contest up early in the second stanza, but the Knights were undaunted. Neumann notched three consecutive goals in the quarter, punctuated by a rip from distance by
Harris Walker to give the hosts a 5-2 advantage with 3:44 left to play. Immaculata closed out the half with a goal with under a minute left to play, but Neumann headed to halftime with a 5-3 lead.
Opening the second half on a man-up advantage, the Knights made the opportunity count and scored just 18 seconds after the restart to rebuild their lead to 6-3. The Mighty Macs responded with a goal five minutes later to make it 6-4, but that was as close as the visitors would get. Neumann retaliated with a 6-0 run over an 11-minute stretch between the third and fourth quarters to take a commanding 12-4 lead late in the game. The fourth quarter belonged to Conlon, who recorded three of the Knights' five goals in the period. Immaculata scored midway through the fourth quarter to bring the score back to within seven at 12-5, but two late Neumann goals sealed the comfortable and much needed 14-5 win.
