ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team celebrated senior day by shutting out Gwynedd Mercy University 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference contest.
 
Before kick-off, the Knights honored their four seniors: Anna Attardi, Anna Algeo, Megan Briggs and Danni Elman.
 
Elman led the Knights with two goals. The senior opened the scoring in the 13^th minute. She followed by getting her own rebound and netted her second goal in the 26^th minute. Kaitlin Thomas made the game 3-0 as she dribbled around the Griffins defender and put the ball in the corner of the net in the 35^th minute.
 
Neumann added an insurance goal in the 55^th minute as Amanda Ayers got around a defender and put the ball in the net for a 4-0 game.
 
The Knights outshot the Griffins 13-3 overall and 10-2 on net.  Attardi picked up the shutout, making two saves.
 
Neumann (5-8-2, 1-2-1 Atlantic East) will hit the road for the final two games of the regular season as it heads to Immaculata next Saturday. Action is slated to get underway at 2:30 PM.
