IMMACULATA, Pa. -- The Neumann University women's soccer team fell to Immaculata University in a hard-fought 2-1 overtime loss on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic East first round contest.
The Knights opened the scoring as
Danni Elman found the back of the net off an assist from
Kaitlin Thomas in the 12th minute. The Mighty Macs answered quickly in the 14th minute to tie the match at one. The teams continued throughout the rest of regulation tied.
In the 93rd minute it was Immaculata who netted the goal to take the win in the first overtime.
The Knights outshot the Mighty Macs 16-14 but were out shot on goal 11-10.
Carissa Britton led the Knights with four shots on goal and Elman followed with three.
Anna Attardi had nine saves in net.
Neumann finishes its season 5-11-2 overall.
