BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team found its way back into the win column on Tuesday afternoon, picking up a 7-2 victory on the road at Bryn Athyn College in non-conference action.
The Knights dominated the match from start to finish on the afternoon despite missing a few players.
Daniel Rival and
Jordan Collins opened the contest with an 8-0 win at first doubles, followed by
John Beck and
Evan King taking home an 8-4 victory at second doubles. Bryn Athyn won by default at third doubles, but Neumann took a 2-1 lead into singles action.
As the match moved to singles, the Knights kept up their solid play. The visitors won five of six matches on the day, with the team's only loss coming by default at sixth singles. Rival and King were dominant at first and third singles without dropping a game (6-0, 6-0), while Collins, Beck and
Zach Dakin also picked up straight-set wins for Neumann.
Neumann (6-2, 2-1 Atlantic East) will look to continue its momentum later this week when it takes on Rutgers University-Camden on Thursday, April 25
th. The home match is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
