ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell to Immaculata University 69-56 on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference contest.
Chelsea Keebler led the Knights with 13 points.
Neumann started by hitting the first two baskets, a jumper by
Kamryn Englert and a three-pointer by Keebler for an early 5-0 lead. The teams had five lead changes through the rest of the first quarter. Th Mighty Macs netted the last basket of the quarter for a 14-12 lead.
Immaculata kept the lead throughout the second quarter, building a 33-24 lead with 1:21 left before halftime. Neumann netted the last three points before the break for a 33-27 score at halftime.
Midway through the third quarter, the Knights tied the game at 37 on a jumper by Keebler. The Mighty Macs answered and built a 10-point advantage, 54-44, heading into the final 10 minutes. Immaculata would use the lead and not relinquish a double-digit advantage to come away with the win.
Neumann (5-12, 1-3 Atlantic East) will head to Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday for more conference action beginning at 6:00 PM.
