ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team opened Atlantic East Conference action with a 4-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday evening.
Chloe Britton scored twice for the Knights. The junior opened the scoring fourth minute off a pass from
Alexa McCracken. Neumann took the 1-0 lead through halftime.
Liz Purcell put the Knights up 2-0 in the 64
th minute off a pass from
Carissa Britton. Ch. Britton netted her second goal at the 72-minute mark as she knocked in a pass from
Morghan Stiles.
Kaitlin Thomas sealed the win with a goal in the 84
th minute.
Thomas led Neumann with five shots, four on net, as the Knights had 25 in the game. Stiles added four shots. Neumann's defense held Gwynedd Mercy to just one shot in the game.
Neumann (4-5, 1-0 Atlantic East) will head to Wilkes University on Saturday for a non-conference game. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
