ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team will host Immaculata University on Monday evening in an Atlantic East Conference first round contest.
Neumann finished with a 3-3 conference record, 6-9 overall. The Knights will be the No. 4 seed in the postseason. Immaculata is the No. 5 seed.
In the regular season meeting between the Knights and the Mighty Macs, Neumann came away with a 1-0 win.
Chloe Britton scored the lone goal of the game in the 86
th minute off a pass from
Kaitlin Thomas.
Marissa Waters made four saves in net.
On the season, Britton leads the team with four goals, two of which are game winners. Five Knights have tallied a pair of goals. Both goals that
Belle Hughes has scored have also been game winners.
Leona Macrina has played in 12 games and has a 1.69 goals-against-average. Waters has seen time in five games and has a 0.59 goals-against-average.
No. 2 Cabrini will host No. 7 Gwynedd Mercy in the first round while No. 3 Marymount will host No. 6 Centenary in the other first round game. The winning teams will advance to the semifinals on Wednesday. The lowest remaining seed will travel to No. 1 seeded Marywood. The other two winners will meet at the highest remaining seed.
The winners of the two semifinal games will meet at the highest remaining seed at Saturday for the 2021 Atlantic East Championship.
