Women’s Soccer Heads to Cabrini for Semifinals Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team heads to Cabrini University for an Atlantic East Conference semifinal contest on Wednesday evening.  
 
Neumann finished with a 3-3 conference record and as the No. 4 seed in the postseason. The Knights defeated Immaculata 2-0 in the first round on Monday evening to advance to the next round.
 
Liz Purcell and Riley Adinolfi scored for the Knights against the Mighty Macs. Leona Macrina made three saves in net for the shutout.
 
In the regular season meeting between the Knights and the Cavaliers, Cabrini came away with the 2-0 win. Cabrini is the No. 2 seed in the postseason.
 
On the season, Chloe Britton leads the team with four goals, two of which are game winners. Purcell has three goals, including the game-winner in the first round. Four Knights have tallied a pair of goals. Both goals that Belle Hughes has scored have also been game winners.
 
Macrina has played in 13 games and has a 1.56 goals-against-average and four shutouts. Marissa Waters has seen time in five games and has a 0.59 goals-against-average.
 
No. 1 seeded Marywood will host No. 6 Centenary, who defeated No. 3 Marymount in the first round. The winners of the semifinal games will face-off in the championship game on Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
