HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Centenary University 57-40 on Monday evening in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
Madison Stewart led the Knights with 17 points.
Dymond Collins tallied 11 points.
Tierra Harris notched nine points and nine assists.
The Knights scored 11 of the first 13 points of the game over the first eight minutes of the first quarter. The Cyclones capped the first quarter scoring with a three-pointer, but Neumann held a 15-7 lead.
A jumper by Stewart put the Knights up by double-figures a minute into the second quarter. Neumann led by as many as 15 in the quarter and took a 27-14 lead into halftime.
The Knights held a double-digit lead throughout the third quarter, building a lead of 20 on a Stewart layup just before the end of the third. Neumann continued to hold a double-figure lead in the fourth quarter to come away with the 57-40 win.
Neumann (6-8, 1-1 Atlantic East) will return home for the first time in over a month when it hosts Immaculata. The game is slated to get underway at 6:00 PM.
