ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team is the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic East postseason and will host No. 6 seeded Immaculata University on Monday evening in a first-round game.
The Knights finished the regular season 7-8-3 overall and 4-1-1 in conference action. The Mighty Macs went 3-12-2 in the regular season and 1-4-1 in Atlantic East action.
Chloe Britton leads the Knights with six goals this season.
Rebecca Spence has added four goals, including two game-winners. Spence also has a team-high six assists.
Liz Purcell and
Morghan Stiles have both netted four goals.
Leona Macrina has made 15 starts in net for the Knights. In over 1200 minutes in net, the sophomore has a 1.50 goals-against-average and has made 73 saves. Macrina also has three solo shutouts and three combined shutouts with fellow keeper
Lex Navarro.
During the regular season meeting, Neumann defeated Immaculata 4-2.
Riley Adinolfi scored two penalty kick goals.
Kaitlin Thomas tallied two assists. Macrina made four saves in net.
The other first round match-up is No. 5 Marymount at No. 4 Centenary. The winners will travel to No. 1 seeded Marywood and No. 2 seeded Cabrini for semifinal action on Wednesday. The winners from Wednesday will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed for the 2022 Atlantic East Championship.
