Women’s Soccer Heads to Cabrini for Semifinal Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team is the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic East postseason and will head to Cabrini University, the No. 2 seed, for a semifinal contest on Wednesday evening.
 
The Knights are 8-8-3 overall and went 4-1-1 in conference action. Neumann defeated Immaculata 1-0 in the first round on Monday evening, 1-0. Caitlin Llewellyn scored on a pass from Riley Adinolfi. Leona Macrina made five saves in net.
 
Chloe Britton leads the Knights with six goals this season. Rebecca Spence has added four goals, including two game-winners. Spence also has a team-high six assists. Liz Purcell and Morghan Stiles have both netted four goals.
 
Leona Macrina has made 16 starts in net for the Knights. In almost 1300 minutes in net, the sophomore has a 1.39 goals-against-average and has made 78 saves. Macrina also has four solo shutouts and three combined shutouts with fellow keeper Lex Navarro.
 
During the regular season, the Cavaliers gave the Knights their only conference loss, 2-0. Macrina made five saves in net.
 
No. 1 Marywood hosts No. 5 Marymount in the other semifinal contest on Wednesday. The winners from Wednesday will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed for the 2022 Atlantic East Championship.
