TOWSON, Md. – The Neumann University men's soccer team, in a first round ECAC Tournament match, lost a heartbreaking decision to Goucher College by a final score of 1-0 on Saturday morning.
The Knights and Gophers played over 89 minutes of scoreless soccer in a back-and-forth struggle. With 12 seconds left in regulation, Goucher fired home the game-winner, sending them to the next round and eliminating Neumann.
The Gophers held a three-shot advantage at the halftime break, 5-2, but the Knights had a resurgent final 45 minutes, as the game ended even in shots at nine. Jon Zubert and Gianni Smith each had a pair of shots. Seth Walker made three saves in net.
Neumann wraps up the 2022 campaign with a 7-8-3 overall record.
