RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell in a 55-40 contest at Cabrini University on Monday evening in an Atlantic East Conference contest.
Terea Hunt led the Knights with a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Allyson Wills added nine points and three steals.
The Cavaliers came out and scored the first nine points of the contest. A jumper by
Dymond Collins put the Knights on the board and a three-pointer by
Madison Stewart brought Neumann back to within four, 9-5. A Cabrini layup rounded out the scoring of the first quarter for an 11-5 advantage.
Neumann pulled to within a pair a couple times in the second quarter. Down by three, 16-13, Cabrini scored the final seven points of the half to take a 23-13 lead at the break.
A three-pointer by Hunt brought Neumann to within six, 34-28, with 1:15 left in the third. Cabrini hit a free throw for a 35-28 score at the break.
Cabrini scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter to extend its lead to 15, 43-28. Neumann answered with next seven points to stay within striking distance. The Cavaliers hit the next basket to go back up by double-digits. Cabrini went 5-for-6 from the line down the stretch to hold onto the 55-40 win.
Neumann (9-15, 4-7 Atlantic East) will wrap up regular season action on Saturday when it travels to Marywood. Action is slated to get underway at 2:00 PM.
