CLERMONT, Fla. – The Neumann University softball team fell in a pair of games at the Spring Games on Wednesday. The Knights dropped a 6-0 decision to Moravian College, followed by a 13-3 loss in five innings to Calvin University.
 
Taylor Portzline had two hits in the game against Moravian. Ashlynne Scardino went 6.0 innings in the circle and allowed six runs on 11 hits.
 
The Greyhounds plated four runs in the first innings and didn't look back. The Knights loaded the bases in the top of the sixth innings but could not break through on the scoreboard.
 
In the second game, Calvin jumped early and took a 13-0 lead over the first four innings. Emily DuPont made her debut in the circle and went 2.2 innings. Ashley Mazzeo finished the game and went 2.1 innings.
 
The Knights plated their three runs in the top of the fifth inning. Aubrie Breisblatt doubled to lead off the inning. Mazzeo the walked. Bri Reim reached on a error on a sacrifice bunt, which scored Breisblatt. Emily Reid then singled to score Mazzeo and Reim.
 
Neumann (1-6) will face Chatham (12:30 PM) and Regis (2:45 PM) tomorrow in more spring break action.
