ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team shut out Penn State Schuylkill, on a rainy afternoon, earning an impressive non-conference 7-0 victory.
The Knights remained possession of the ball for majority of the game. Ten minutes into the game
Jake Kuzmick notched the first goal for the Knights. 15 minutes later
Juan Lemos found the back of the net with an assist from
Chimdi Ekwem. Three minutes later
Alex Pobre took advantage of an assist given by
Connor Ryan to stretch the lead to 3-0.
Neumann was able to find the back of the net three more times before the first half concluded. In the 41
st minute Ekwem scored his lone goal. One minute later,
Patrick Oliveira scored off a nice assist from
Victor John. Followed by that goal, John scored his lone goal with two minutes left in the half.
In the 57
th minute Oliveira scored his second goal of the game from an Ekwem assist.
Matt Randall and
Carson Metzger were the goalies in the shutout win.
Neumann (6-4-1, 3-0 Atlantic East) has a big conference match up Wednesday night against Immaculata University. This match is slated for 7:00 PM.
