ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team will be hosting the Marymount University Saints on Tuesday night in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament Semifinals.
During the regular season, the Knights had a regular season overall record of 7-4-3 and a conference record of 4-0-2, giving them the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. The Saints had a 2-2-2 conference record, slotted them as the No. 5 seed. In the first round, they took down the No. 4 seed, Immaculata, 2-0.
Neumann is lead offensively by
Jake Kuzmick and his seven goals and three assists.
Chimdi Ekwem and
Patrick Oliveira fall right behind with four goals each while
Alex Pobre and
Jon Zubert have three goals each. Nine other Knights have also scored, adding to the Knights' balanced attack.
Seth Walker has made 12 starts in goal with three shutouts and one combined shutout with
Carson Metzger. He carries a 1.06 goals-against average and a save percentage of 61.3%. Metzger also has a second combined shutout with
Matt Randall, putting together a 77.8 save percentage.
In the regular season's last game, the Knights and Saints met for a 2-2 draw. Neumann fell behind 2-0 but Ekwem and
Owen Bentley scored in the last 12 minutes to square the game up. Metzger and Walker each made a save, splitting time in goal.
Cabrini and Marywood will meet in the other semifinal game, also on Tuesday. The winners will meet in the 2023 Atlantic East Conference Championship Game on Saturday, at the home of the highest remaining seed.
