HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team took down the Centenary University Cyclones in a back-and-forth affair on Wednesday afternoon. The final score was 4-3 in the opening match of the Atlantic East Conference Schedule.
 
In the 16
th minute, 
Morghan Stiles took a pass from 
Catherine Miller and slipped it into the net for a 1-0 Neumann lead. Six minutes later, 
Kyleigh Joniec tapped home a rebound to double the Knights advantage. Just before the close of the first half, in the 44th minute, Centenary got on the board to pull within one.
 
Fifteen minutes after the intermission, the Cyclones equalized. In the 68th minute, 
Chloe Britton grabbed a misplayed ball by the goalkeeper and gave Neumann a 3-2 lead, although it didn't last long as the Cyclones tied the game up at three, six minutes later. The Knights took the lead for good when 
Jaclyn Burmood fired in a free kick from 40 yards away from the goal.
 
Burmood's winner was one of three shots she attempted to lead Neumann. 
Alexis Navarro made five saves to pick up the win.
 
Neumann(5-4-1, 1-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they head to Scranton to take on Marywood. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start.
