HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. –The Neumann University women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 65-54 win at Centenary University on Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action.
Lauren Klieber tallied another double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds.
Aubrie Breisblatt added nine points.
Terea Hunt grabbed eight rebounds.
Tied at nine with two minutes left in the first quarter, Neumann went on an 8-2 run for a 17-11 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Knights held the lead throughout the second quarter. A free throw by Klieber before halftime gave Neumann a 30-25 lead at the break.
The Knights continued to hold a slim lead throughout the third quarter. A three-pointer by Klieber gave Neumann a 46-40 edge heading into the final 10 minutes of regulation.
Midway through the fourth, the Cyclones pulled within two, 54-52. Seven straight points by the Knights increased their lead to nine, 61-52, as the clock ticked into the final minute. Neumann went 4-for-6 from the line in the final 12 seconds to hold off a comeback and being home the 65-54 win.
Neumann (13-12, 6-6 Atlantic East) will be the No. 5 seed in the postseason and will travel to No. 4 seeded Immaculata on Monday evening for first round action.
