Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Keystone for First Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team closed out a stretch of two games in 24 hours with a 4-0 non-conference win over Keystone College on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights controlled play from the opening kick and were able to strike first in the 21st minute when Anna Poehlmann took a Jaclyn Burmood pass and fired it home for a 1-0 lead. 10 minutes later, Ebony Arvelo scored her first collegiate goal on a one-hopper from 20 yards away doubling the Neumann lead. A lead that would hold until the halftime break.
 
Arvelo struck again with 21 minutes left when a chip inside the box fell to her feet on was able to get her toe to the ball and poke it in for the three-goal lead. With 44 seconds left, Kera McKnight scored the first goal of her college career, hitting the upper-left corner from 19 yards away to close out to scoring.
 
Morghan Stiles made a number of attempts to score with eight shots and four on the goal. Hannah Dang took six shots, with three on goal and Arvelo took four shots. Kyleigh Joniec did not face a shot on her way to a shutout, the first of her career.
 
Neumann(1-1) will be back on action on Wednesday when they head to Reading, Pa. to take on Penn State Berks. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
