Women’s Soccer Draws with Immaculata

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team picked up a 2-2 tie against Immaculata University in an Atlantic East Conference match on Wednesday afternoon.

Against the run of play, Immaculata took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute on a shot from 25 yards away. Neumann possessed most of the first half but offensive chances were few and far between. Things opened up in the second as the Knights came out and put chances together. In the 56th minute, Julianna Hatt was pulled down in the penalty box and Neumann was awarded a penalty kick. Hannah Dang placed the ball in the corner for her sixth of the season, tying the match.

13 minutes later, Morghan Stiles slipped a pass to Anna Poehlmann who finished her fourth goal of the year, giving the Knights the 2-1 lead. With 12:01 left, the Mighty Macs were able to tie the match after a mad scramble close to the goal. Both teams pushed for the lead, but they would have to settle for the tie.

Both Poehlmann and Dang had three shots each and two on goal. Marisa Nicolucci also took two shots. Kiki Soto played the full 90 minutes in goal, making four saves.

Neumann (7-8-2, 3-1-1) will close out the regular season on Wednesday, October 30 when they visit Marymount University. That game is due to start at 5:00 PM in Arlington, Va.
