ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team will be going to northern Virginia on Wednesday afternoon for an Atlantic East Conference semifinal battle against the No. 2 seed, Marymount University.
The Knights completed the regular season with an overall record of 7-8-3. In Atlantic East play, their record was 3-1-2, placing them in third place.
Julianna Hatt is Neumann's top offensive threat with seven goals and two assists.
Hannah Dang is right behind her with six and the combination of
Morghan Stiles and
Anna Poehlmann has four each.
Marisa Nicolucci was the key passer all season by contributing six assists.
Lex Navarro and
Kiki Soto have split most of the time between the pipes. Navarro is 5-1-1 with two shutouts. She had a goals against average of 0.93 and a save percentage of .794. Soto also has two shutouts and a goals against average of 1.88.
For the second straight year, the Knights and Saints, meet in the last regular season game of the year, and in the conference semifinals. Their meeting just last week ended in a 1-1 draw. Stiles had the Knights' goal and Navarro made six saves.
The other semifinal game will feature the No. 1 seeded Marywood University Pacers and the No. 4 seeded Immaculata University Mighty Macs. The winners will meet on Saturday, at the home of the highest remaining seed, to decide the 2024 Atlantic East Conference championship, and the NCAA Tournament automatic bid.
