Women’s Basketball Heads to Immaculata for AEC Semifinals

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball will head to Immaculata University on Wednesday evening for an Atlantic East Semifinal matchup.
 
The Knights are the No. 3 seed in the postseason and defeated No. 6 Marywood 84-47 in first round action on Monday. Four Knights finished with double-digit points, led by Lauren Klieber's 21. Emily DuPont dropped 18 while Terea Tourk had a huge all-around game with 17 points and eight rebounds. Aubrie Breisblatt scored 12 points, and the fifth starter, Jacqueline Wardrop hounded the boards with a team-high nine rebounds.
 
In the other semifinal game, No. 4 Centenary defeated No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy 66-58. The Cyclones will travel to No. 1 seeded Marymount in semifinal action.
 
During the regular season, Immaculata took both contests. Back in January, the Mighty Macs defeated the Knights 73-49. DuPont led the Knights with 14 points while Tourk added 11. This past Friday, Immaculata held off a comeback attempt by Neumann for a 72-67 win. Klieber exploded for 38 points in the game, going 16-for-20 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the line. The junior added four blocks and a steal. Tourk notched a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. DuPont added 14 points.
 
For the season, Klieber leads the Knights, averaging 19.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The junior scored her 1,000th career point back in December. She also leads the team in three-pointers, connecting on 50, and makes 80.8% of her free throws.
 
DuPont is netting 13.0 points per game. Tourk is averaging 8.1 and Breissblatt 7.8 points per game.
 
The winners from Wednesday's semifinals will meet for the 2024 Atlantic East Championship on Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
