Knights Head to Marymount for Atlantic East Championship

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball heads to Marymount University for the 2024 Atlantic East Championship game on Saturday.
 
The Knights went 5-5 overall in conference action to earn the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. The Saints were 10-0 to earn the top seed.
 
In the first round, game, Neumann hosted Marywood. The Knights came away with an 84-47 win. Four Knights finished with double-digit points, led by Lauren Klieber's 21. Emily DuPont dropped 18 while Terea Tourk had a huge all-around game with 17 points and eight rebounds. Aubrie Breisblatt scored 12 points, and the fifth starter, Jacqueline Wardrop hounded the boards with a team-high nine rebounds.
 
Neumann traveled to Immaculata for semifinal action, defeating the Mighty Macs 64-54. Klieber led the Knights with 17 points. Tourk notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. DuPont added 10 points, including the final two free throws to seal the trip to the Championship.
 
During the regular season, the Saints won both contests. Back in January, Marymount won 61-50 at home. DuPont led the offensive effort with 20 points along with a team-high six rebounds. Bri Gautire came off the bench and contributed eight points while Breisblatt and Klieber each added seven. The Knights was their 88.9% success rate from the free throw line.
 
Back at the Mirenda Center just 10 days ago, Marymount took a 68-47 decision. Wardrop led the way for Neumann with 15 points. DuPont had 12 point and three steals. Klieber added seven points and Tourk led with seven rebounds.
 
For the season, Klieber leads the Knights, averaging 19.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The junior scored her 1,000th career point back in December. She also leads the team in three-pointers, connecting on 53, and makes 79.6% of her free throws.
 
DuPont is netting 12.9 points per game. Tourk is averaging 8.4 points and 6.7 boards while Breisblatt adds 7.9 points per game.
 
The winner from Saturday's game received the Atlantic East automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
