ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Tennis team drop a 6-3 decision at the hands of DeSales University on Thursday afternoon.
In the doubles portion of the match, the third doubles team of
Logan Gorbitz and
Tony Andrews picked up a hard-fought 8-7 victory, winning the tiebreaker by a 9-8 margin. Ultimately, the Knights dropped two of the three doubles matches.
Neumann followed by grabbing two of the six singles matches.
Joe Troilo won fourth singles in three sets. He fell in the first, 6-3, before taking the middle set, 6-3, and the finale, 6-2. In fifth singles,
Anthony Carpinella earned a three-set battle. The first set went the distance with Carpinella falling 7-6, 4-0 in the tie-breaker. He controlled the second, 6-4, before another tie-breaker win in the third, winning the set 8-7, and dominating the final game 9-0.
Neumann (3-2) will get back to work on Monday when they host Rowan College of Gloucester County. The match gets started at 3:30 PM.
