ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team blanked Alvernia University over the first half of play, helping them to an 8-4 win in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon.

Renzo Garone dodged from behind the cage to score, giving Neumann the early lead. With 3:18 left in the first, Garone struck again with another unassisted goal for a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes. To start the second,
Connor Paradis fed Garone for his third goal of the game with 8:52 left in the quarter. 2:45 later, Garone again fired a game home before
Connor Hurley scored a man-up goal, giving the Knights a 5-0 lead at the break.
Alvernia fought back in the third scoring the only three goals of the period. They also scored early in the fourth to pull back within one. Garone concluded his scoring day for his fifth of the game to reassert the momentum in their favor. 1:11 later,
Brendan Boschi made it a three goal game before he struck again with just over a minute left to close out the game.
Garone had a big day with two assists to go with his five goals. Boschi had two goals and an assist while
Jake Methlie won seven of 11 faceoffs, scooping up six ground balls.
Luke Sykes figured with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Owen Avelar made 15 saves for the win in goal.
Neumann (6-4) will begin their Atlantic East Conference schedule on Wednesday, April 3
rd when they host Centenary University at 4:00 PM.
