ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team defeated Immaculata University 5-3 on Friday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference Division semifinal.
In doubles action,
Vince Landis and
Joe Troilo won the second flight 8-2.
Tony Andrews and
Logan Gorbitz came from behind to force a tiebreaker at third doubles and took the match 8-7 (7-5). The Knights held a 2-1 edge heading into singles.
Landis got Neumann its third point with a 6-0, 6-3 win at third doubles. Troilo picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at fourth singles while
Anthony Carpinella won 6-1, 6-1 at sixth singles to give the Knights the five points and the win.
Neumann (8-4) will face Marymount on Saturday for the Atlantic East Conference division championship beginning at 11:00 AM.
