RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team battled early but ultimately dropped a 28-7 match-up against Cabrini University in the Atlantic East Conference semifinals on Wednesday evening.
Neumann got on the board first with a
Brendan Boschi goal just 1:22 into the game. Cabrini scored two straight to take the lead but
Connor Hurley scored with the man-up, his 38
th of the season, tying the game at one. Two minutes later, the Cavaliers took the lead for good and went on a 10-goal run that went into the second. Boschi struck again at the 6:09 mark of the second and
Connor Paradis added his fourth of the year, three minutes later.
With the Knights down 16-4 at the break,
Renzo Garone scored to start the third. Boschi picked up another goal at the 8:07 mark, his 66
th of the season, followed by Garone's 37th of the season as the out-scored Cabrini in the quarter. Cabrini pulled away further in the fourth, clinching their spot in the championship.
Boschi led the Knights with a hat-trick and an assist. Garone contributed two goals and an assist.
Jake Methlie had five ground balls and the combination of
Owen Avelar and
Brycen Wolfahrt made 17 saves, with Avelar getting 15 over his 45 minutes of play.
Neumann closes out their 2024 season with a final record of 9-9.
