ASTON, Pa. – Neumann University Men's Basketball alum,
Jalen Vaughns, has signed a professional contract with BC Kamza in the Albanian Basketball Superliga.
BC Kamza, or Kamza Basketball, are a six-time Albanian National Champion and have won the Albanian Basketball Supercup twice. They also play in Liga Unike, which consists of teams from Albania and Kosovo. They play their home games at the Salla Sportive Bathore Arena in Kamez, located in Tirana County, Albania.
Vaughns remarked," It felt great feeling really appreciated by a pro team. They sounded really excited for me to be there, so it felt great. Especially always wanting to be a Pro as a kid made it even better."
Jalen continues his basketball journey after a storied career at Neumann University. He is the all-time program leader in points per game, rebounds per game, and field goals made. He is third all-time in career rebounds, 10
th in blocks, and tied for fourth in free throws made. He is a three-time Atlantic East Conference Player of the Year, a member of the ECAC three times, including being named their Player of the Year in his senior season. The Tobyhanna, Pa. native has also received recognition from D3hoops.com and was named an NABC All-American.
"I think it (playing at Neumann) prepared me by having good teammates and a good coach in Coach Rullo", Vaughns says. "It gave me all the confidence and the tools I needed to get to the next level". Neuman coach Jim Rullo had this to say about Vaughns signing, "It's so exciting to see Jalen pursue his dream of playing professionally. It's a credit to his work ethic. I'm so happy for him as well as his family as they continue this amazing journey."
BC Kamza's season is set to start in early October.
