Women’s Soccer Battles at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team challenged Stevenson University in a non-conference scoreless draw on Wednesday afternoon.

Today's effort was a full defensive effort by the entire team, anchored by the back line of Cara Cimo, Sierra Lester, and Marisa Nicolucci. When the Mustangs were able to break through, Shannon Duffy was there as she made eight saves on her way to the shutout, her second of the season.

Offensively, Ebony Arvelo led the Knights with four shots, two on goal. Hannah Dang attempted two shots while Anna Poehlmann and Liz Purcell attempted one shot each. Neumann coach, Kurt Nusshag was pleased with today's game, saying "That was a complete performance from start to finish. Our hard work in training is paying off, and I couldn't be prouder of the collective effort today."

Neumann (2-7-2) will be back in action on Saturday when they open Atlantic East Conference play with a match-up against Marywood University. Kickoff from Scranton is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
